This Privacy Policy explains how Lounge Player (“Lounge Player”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Lounge Player web, desktop, and mobile apps (the “Service”), available at lounge-player.pro.
Lounge Player is operated by bestefm, a sole proprietor registered in Germany. Contact: yuk@proton.me.
a) Data stored on your device. Your stations, profiles, favorites, themes, and settings are stored locally in your browser or app. This data stays on your device unless you enable Cloud Sync.
b) Sync code & device list. On first launch the app quietly obtains a sync code (a licence key, kept for historical reasons) so that Cloud Sync can work; nothing is sold and no account is created. We store the code, and for each device using it: a random device identifier generated by the app, the device name it reports (for example «Windows · Chrome»), the country of the connection, and when it was last seen. This is what you see under «Devices & sync», and it is how you can spot and remove a device you do not recognise. We show the country rather than the IP address on purpose: the sync code is shared between your devices, so anyone holding it can see this list.
c) Cloud Sync data. Your preferences and profiles (station lists, favorites, themes, groups, schedules) are stored on our server, associated with your sync code, so you can use them across devices. Sync is active by default once the app has a sync code; if you do not want it, use Sign out under «Devices & sync», which removes this device and its stored copy. We treat this as your content and do not use it for any other purpose.
d) Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and cookieless. It provides aggregate visit statistics and does not build a profile of you or track you across sites.
e) Live usage count. While the player is open, it sends a short anonymous ping (about once a minute) so we can see how many people are listening at a given moment. The ping contains only a random device identifier generated by the app, whether audio is currently playing, and the app format (web / installed app / desktop). It contains no IP address, no account data, and no information about which stations you play. These records are aggregate-only and are deleted automatically after 25 hours.
f) Technical & security data. Our infrastructure providers (such as Cloudflare) and our server process technical data such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver the Service securely and prevent abuse. These logs are short-lived. Your IP address is not stored against your device: we keep it only to limit how many sync codes can be issued from one address per day, and it is erased automatically after 24 hours.
We do not sell anything and do not process payments. If you choose to support the project, that happens on an external service, under its own terms and privacy policy — your payment details never reach us and are not stored here.
Lounge Player lets you connect to internet radio streams operated by third parties (for example SomaFM, Radio Paradise, Radio France). When you play a stream, your device connects directly to that provider, whose own privacy practices apply. We do not control those services.
Where the GDPR applies, we process data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), on the basis of our legitimate interests (security and improving the Service), and with your consent where required (for example, Cloud Sync).
We keep licence data for as long as your licence is active and as required for legal and accounting purposes. Cloud Sync data is kept until you delete it or your licence is removed. You can request deletion at any time.
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise these rights, email us at yuk@proton.me. We do not sell personal information.
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
We operate from Ukraine and use service providers (such as Cloudflare) that may process data in other countries. We rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We may update this Policy. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
